Balticovo AS has recently received the "Green Excellence" award from the Valsts vides dienests (Latvian State Environmental Service). This prestigious recognition was awarded to Balticovo AS in the category of "Green Excellence in Agriculture" for the implementation of the latest technologies to reduce environmental pollution.
The award was given to Balticovo AS for its ability to meet environmental requirements at the highest level and for its initiatives to reduce environmental impact. Andris Ķēniņš, the General Director of the Latvian State Environmental Service, praised Balticovo AS's efforts in sustainable and environmentally friendly management, stating: "Balticovo AS, with its circular economy mindset, demonstrates that business can be very well aligned with environmental goals. We see and feel that Balticovo AS's approach to environmental and climate issues is far more advanced than that of many other companies here in Latvia. That's why we thank them for what they do, how they do it, and how they set an example for the whole of Latvia."
Balticovo AS has always invested resources in meaningful circular economy development and sustainable farming. It is truly gratifying that the State Environmental Service has recognized Balticovo's environmentally friendly solutions:
?Modern wastewater treatment facilities
?Thoughtful use of available resources – chicken manure is processed into biogas and used to generate electricity
?During the manure processing, clean methane is produced and supplied to the gas network for consumer use
?The company has established a solar panel park with a total capacity of 2.3 MW
?Recently, the biogas purification plant, Bovogas, has commenced operations.
